On 30th June, 2020, China University of Petroleum-Beijing held the third International Young Scholar Forum and the 2020 Global Recruitment online. The forum was hosted by CUP President Prof. Zhang Laibin.
CUP Chancellor Prof. Shan Honghong delivered the opening speech to welcome the young scholars joined in the forum. Based on the current situation of prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, CUP President Prof. Zhang Laibin extended his sincere greetings to young scholars abroad. President Assistant and Head of Human Resource Department Prof. Liu Zhichang introduced the university's personnel strategies and polices. As the representatives of outstanding young teachers, Prof. Zhang Guangqing, Prof. Feng Yongcun and Prof. Huang Guoyong shared their learning and working experiences.
More than 120 young talents including enterprise managers, engineers, associate professors, postdoctoral students and doctoral students from nearly one hundred universities, research institutions and enterprises of 18 countries including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia (including Stanford University, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Pennsylvania State University, Duke University, the University of Alberta in Canada, the University of Calgary, the University of Science and Technology in Denmark, the University of Tokyo in Japan, University of Tokyo, Nagoya University, Singapore Nanyang Technological University and other world-renowned universities), young scholars from other universities in China and heads of various colleges and research institutes of China University of Petroleum-Beijing participated in the online forum.
