Program Objectives
The program aims to educate graduate students with good ideological quality and moral quality, rigorous and realistic scientific attitude and sense of innovation, legal compliance, strong sense of career ambition and social responsibility, and comprehensive professional accomplishment. The graduate students of the program are trained as future talents for high-level economic management and academic research, who are well developed morally, intellectually and physically, master modern economic management theory and methods, and meet the needs of social development. The program is designed to offer high potential professionals for government, large and medium-size enterprises, banks and financial organizations, economic research organization, universities and research institutes, and especially for organizations and enterprises related to oil and gas and energy, engaging in economic analysis, economic management, scientific research, teaching, etc.
Through the program, graduate students should be enriched with solid professional knowledge base and good knowledge structure, and be able to use the knowledge to analyze and solve practical energy economy system problems. Graduate students could be familiar with literatures and research trends in this field, and be able to review foreign professional literatures expertly. Through the program, graduate students can master English fluently and have the basic quality of writing English papers and the basic capabilities of using English for academic exchange. In addition, the program equips graduate students with ability to carry out research independently or cooperatively, and with innovation ability.

Admission Requirements
The applicant should meet the following requirements to be accepted by this program:
1. A Bachelor degree of relevant disciplines;
2. Minimum English requirement: 500 in CET-6; 6 in IELTS; 90 in TOEFL
 
Graduation & Degree Requirements
Degree will be obtained upon more than 36 credits, of which 34 shall be gained from course credits, and 2 shall be gained from compulsory activity credits. The course credits include 3 university public compulsory courses (5 credits), 1 major frontier course (3 credits), and 10 major platform courses (26 credits). In compulsory activities, literature review and opening report is 1 credit, and academic activity is 1 credit.
This master degree also requires the publication of a paper related with this discipline on newspaper or periodical, with student being the first author, or with its supervisor being the first and student being the second author. The quality of the paper shall be strictly controlled by supervisor. This requirement shall be met within 1 year if it is unmet at the time of dissertation defense.

Graduates mainly work in the field of economy management, research and teaching and economy analysis. Employers include government agencies, large and medium size enterprises, banking and financing institutions, institutions of higher learning and research, especially the energy-related enterprises and institutions.
