Mission and ambition
Energy is quite important in global economic lifeline. With the rapid development of the international financial market, energy’s financial attributes are gradually increasing. From the perspective of China’s Energy Strategy, The Energy Finance Group has the ambition to do deep research on the following hot topics: China’s mechanism and strategies of participating in global energy financial market, the mechanism and trends of petrodollars, the financial innovations for energy conservation and emission reduction, the overseas investment risk analysis and risk warning system, and the strategies on transnational investment, mergers and acquisitions. The Energy Finance Group provides supports for making policies in China's energy strategy and energy security.
 
The Energy Finance Group has wide publications across a broad spectrum of energy, finance, economics, and policy journals. The group has systematically studied critical issues related to China’s energy security, including the international energy market mechanism, the petrodollars, the international energy trade, the transnational oil and gas investment and M&A. Some new theories and methodologies, that focused on improving the oil trade system, optimizing the international petroleum investment portfolios, and strengthening risk management in overseas petroleum investment, etc., have been developed by the Energy Finance Group and have successfully supported the state’s and companies’ decision-making.
