Environmental Engineering (MSc.)

Objectives
This program aims to help students to acquire stable and broad basic theory and systemic and deep professional knowledge. The students are expected to have advance technology and experiment methods of environmental engineering. They are also required to have capacity of mastering a foreign language, independently managing projects of environmental engineering, and knowing well about the trends and status of environmental engineering.

Graduation & Degree Requirements
Master’s candidates are expected to complete 30 credits of approved graduate-level course work, including required 15 compulsory credits and an acceptable dissertation. In consultation with a faculty adviser, M.S. students select a program of at least 30 points of credits of graduate courses appropriate to their career goals and incorporating core requirements.
 
The core program includes at least one compulsory course, 3 public elementary courses, one specialized core courses and one experiment course. Students whose backgrounds are not Environmental Engineering are required to take prerequisite courses including Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Engineering Microbiology, Water Pollution Control Engineering, Air Pollution Control Engineering, and Solid Waste Disposal Projects.
 
Candidates must complete literature review and master-degree proposal before December in the third semester. The time between proposal and defense must be more than 12 months.
 
Career Prospect:
The vast majority of graduates find jobs in oil and petrochemical companies working in production, management and research in environmental protection. In these roles you can, for instance, work in management in Political Department, environmental planning and design of enterprises or cities in Planning Department and Design Units, execution in Environmental Protection Department, construction, design, operation and control in Industrial and Mining Enterprises, and research and development in Research Units.
