On March 13, School of Economics and Management held a lecture on the theme of “Energy Transformation and Impact on the Petroleum Industry” with the keynote speaker Mu Xiaoyi, a professor of Energy Law and Policy Center of the University of Dundee in the UK and the head of the Energy Economics and Management Program.
He introduced his personal background and research field, and made an analysis of the graph to explain the transformation of energy from traditional energy to renewable energy. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of energy transportation to developing countries and elaborated the impact of energy transformation on the decline in oil demand. He summarized the demand trend of different types of energy including conventional and unconventional energy.
The lecture shown students an overall map of China’s oil and natural gas market, which helped to deepen their understanding of energy transformation and cultivate their energy economic thinking.
