(2) Petroleum biodegradation, including the controls, rate and compounds during biodegradation in subsurface, UCM (Unresolved Complex Mixtures).

(3) Petroleum source rock assessment; Oil-source correlations; Petroleum migration and charging; Petroleum alteration and secondary processes.

(4) Origin, evolution and mass extinction of life on earth.

(5) Organic-inorganic interactions during petroleum formation. 

(6) Shale gas assessment.
