"Experience China" Cultural Activity in Wtown

On June 26, 2018, 71 teachers and students of College of International Education, China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and 8 students of Confucius Institute summer camp went to Wtown to participate the cultural activity of "Experience China" and the opening ceremony of Confucius Institute summer camp.

In the activity, the dragon dance team of College of International Education first presented the dragon dance performance of "Legend of The Dragon". After that, students visited Simaxiaoshao, Yongshun Dyeway, Yinghua Academy and other traditional Chinese attractions. The international students enjoyed the ancient Chinese liquor. And the ancient Chinese textile and dyeing techniques dazzled the students. The students climbed the Great Wall of Simatai. Then everyone went back to the music fountain in the town to watch the light show.

The cultural experience activity has left a very unforgettable impression on the international students, and many expressed their hope to participate in such activities again.

"Experience China" is a theme brand activity of China Scholarship Council. The activity aims to show international students the new achievements of China's socialist modernization by organizing students to visit enterprises, rural areas, communities and historical and cultural monuments, deepen students' understanding of China's national conditions and social development, enhance students' sense of honor as Chinese government scholarship students.

The program of cultural experience and social practice for scholarship students of Confucius institutes focuses on "Telling the Chinese story well and showing the real, three-dimensional and comprehensive China", highlightingChina's development and achievements in the past 40 years of the reform and opening-up. The content includes experiences and practical activities in politics, economy, science and technology, culture, society and ecology.
