On the morning of April 13, 2019, the 8th "Chinese Language Star" Contest of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) was held in conference room 306 of CUPB International Center.

Sponsored by Beijing Education Commission and Beijing Language and Culture Commission, the "Chinese Language Star" Contest is an authoritative Chinese language competition.

This year, the College of International Education of CUPB actively responded to the call of the organizer and organized the division competition of CUPB, inviting Ms. Xue Ping, Ms. Dong Jingping and Mr. Lai Dafu from the College of International Education, College of Foreign Languages and College of Physical Education and Arts of CUPB to serve as the judges of the competition. The competition attracted dozens of overseas students from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Sudan, Nigeria, Yemen, Cameroon and other countries along the "One Belt and One Road". In the competition, the contestants read the passages aloud, answered the questions raised by the judges, made sentences and connected the paragraphs, showing their Chinese language ability.

The results will be announced in May according to the competition rules. The finalists will represent China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in the preliminary round of the 8th Beijing Overseas Student "Chinese Language Star" Competition.
