The College of International Education organized the "Karamay-Desert Beauty, the Pearl of the Gobi" Special Lecture on Petroleum Spirit

In order to promote the international students of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) to understand the spirit of China Petroleum, and guide international students to learn and understand the spirit of petroleum, the College of International Education invited the Master of Chinese International Education from the School of Foreign Languages Du Chaoqun in Conference Room 306 of the International Exchange Center for China University of Petroleum(Beijing) international students gave a lecture on the spirit of petroleum "Karamay-Desert Beauty, Pearl of the Gobi" on October 14th..


More than dozens of international students from Turkmenistan, Chad, Ukraine, Yemen, Sudan and other countries attended the lecture. Du Chaoqun demonstrated the hard work spirit of Karamay Petroleum people from three aspects: the introduction of Karamay, the three stories of Karamay's changes, and the famous petroleum scenic spot in Karamay area. Karamay Oilfield, as the first large oil field in New China, is the mainstay supporting the economic development of New China. After more than 60 years of historical vicissitudes, Karamay Oilfield has produced 370 million tons of oil. Generations of petroleum people have worked hard, dedicated their youth to petroleum, and continued to dedicate energy to the motherland.


In the end, several students asked questions about the content of the lecture, and they all gave detailed answers to them. Through this lecture, international students deeply understood that "I donate oil to the motherland" is the persistence of the oil people throughout their lives. Karamay is an important city in the history of China’s oil development, and our China University of Petroleum (Beijing) is the first petroleum discipline-based university in the New China. It is the beginning of new China's petroleum higher education, since its establishment, it has breathed and shared the same destiny with the energy industry of China.
