CUPB International Students Won the Awards in the 4th International Students Essay and Short Video Contest

On December 8, 2020, the award ceremony of the 4th Essay and Short Video Contest for International Students in China was successfully held online. The event was organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education and hosted by the Service Center for Overseas Study of the Ministry of Education. Fang Jun, deputy director general of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, and Yang Ling, deputy director of the Service Center for Overseas Study of the Ministry of Education attended the event. More than 200 students from more than 150 participating colleges and universities, as well as journalists from the overseas edition of People's Daily and Sina.com attended the online award ceremony. The CUPB College of International Education organized the winning students to attend the award ceremony online.

China University of Petroleum (Beijing) won the Excellent Organization Award in this competition. SHOHRATJANOV SOGUNDIK, a master student from Turkmenistan at CUPB, won the third prize for his work "My Beautiful Encounter with China", and his work will be included in the collection of "My Beautiful Encounter with China -- My 2020". His work describes his study and life during the epidemic, expresses appreciation for China's effective measures to deal with the epidemic, and praises China's advanced system and developed Internet technology for their outstanding achievements in fighting the epidemic and improving people's livelihood, shows his gratitude for the education and care that CUPB gave students during the epidemic and his infinite hope for a better future after the epidemic. SHOHRATJANOVA SABINA, an undergraduate from Turkmenistan of CUPB, won the essay characteristic award of this contest with her work "My 2020 in China".

This essay contest received more than 1100 essays submitted by more than 100 universities and individuals, and finally selected 3 first prize, 5 second prize, 20 third prize and 32 excellent prize. The book was published under the title of "My Beautiful Encounter with China -- My 2020". Essay competition also selected a number of characteristic awards. The winning works will also be published on the overseas edition of The People's Daily, the CHISA and the official account of Study in China.


The purpose of this competition is to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges among young people from different countries, display the charm of international students in China, explore their Chinese stories, and record an extraordinary 2020.
