CUPB Student Representatives Participate in the 5th "Open Day" of the


  On September 28th 2018, 7 representatives of China University of Petroleum under the “Confucius Institute Scholarship”
(Confucius Institute Headquarters/National Hanban Establishment) program attended the fifth "Open Day" event by the theme "Partners working together" under the leadership of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department and the
International Education College which was held at the Confucius Institute Headquarters.

  During the event, the seven representatives of the international students from China University of Petroleum had the pleasure of watching the outstanding performances such as Peking Opera, Dance, and Poetry, which were performed by the winners of the “Chinese Bridge” World University Chinese Contest from the five continents. They also experienced Chinese culture such as calligraphy and classical instruments and participated in interactive activities such as talent learning and learning in the
"Wisdom Music Classroom", "Exploring Han Kao and Traveling to China", understanding the humanistic feelings, feeling the
cultural charm, deepening the understanding of the Confucius Institute and the love of Chinese culture. They also showed the
firm  determination to learn Chinese well and expressed the need to play the role of Chinese and foreign cultural messengers using Chinese as a medium to make contributions to the promotion of international exchanges and communication between
Chinese and foreign cultures.

  The “Open Day” event of the Confucius Institute Headquarters has been held since 2014.In total more than 400 people 
including representatives of diplomatic envoys and cultural institutions from 15 countries, more than 20 Confucius Institutes  of Chinese partner institutions, relevant personnel of the National Development Cooperation Agency and Beijing Municipal 
Education Commission, representatives of enterprises participating in the construction of Confucius Institutes and scholarship 
recipients of Confucius Institutes participated in the 5th "Open Day" activities, including media forums, corporate forums, 
cultural salons and others.

  Currently, 530 Confucius Institutes and 1,113 Confucius lecture halls in primary and secondary schools have been established in 149 countries (regions) around the world. As a Chinese partner institution, China University of Petroleum cooperated in the
construction of the Confucius Institute in Ecuador in 2010. In 2013, China University of Petroleum applied for the Confucius
Institute Scholarship Enrollment Qualification. Under the scholarship, more than 50 students from all over the world have
conducted Chinese language training from one semester to one academic year at the China University of Petroleum, Beijing.
