The 2026 National Day holiday is approaching. To help protect your personal safety and belongings and support student management and services during the holiday, please read and follow the arrangements and reminders below.

I. Holiday and Return Arrangements

The National Day holiday will run from October 1 to 7, 2026, inclusive, for a total of seven days. Please plan your travel in advance, allow sufficient time for your return journey, and return to campus on time for scheduled classes. Do not leave early or return late without permission. Any class rescheduling will be subject to the University’s official notice. If special circumstances prevent you from returning on time, contact College staff promptly and complete the required leave procedures.

II. Tasks to Complete for the Holiday

1. Report Your Holiday Plans. Before leaving campus, accurately report your destination, contact details, and planned return through the international student departure and holiday stay registration form (留学生离校及假期留校报备表) in the E-Service system. Update your information if your plans change. Students staying on campus must observe dormitory hours. If you need to return late or stay away overnight, report this in advance through the relevant E-Service procedure.

2. Check Your Passport, Visa, and Residence Permit. Check the validity of your documents in advance and allow enough time for any extension application to avoid disruption during the holiday. Contact Office 207 beforehand to prepare the required documents, and check the holiday office hours of the Exit-Entry Administration. If you plan to travel internationally, confirm that your travel and immigration documents are valid. Contact Office 207 promptly after returning to China to update your information.

3. Complete Accommodation Registration as Required. If you travel, stay off campus, or change your address during the holiday, complete accommodation registration promptly in accordance with the applicable requirements. Report your updated address and relevant information to Office 207. Students living off campus should remain reachable and cooperate with the College’s holiday communication arrangements.

III. Holiday Safety Reminders

1. Observe Laws and University Rules. Comply with Chinese laws and regulations and all University rules. Respect local customs and maintain public order. Do not engage in illegal employment, gambling, fighting, or other unlawful activities or misconduct. Avoid excessive drinking, disorderly conduct, and disturbances that affect others’ studies or daily lives.

2. Travel Safely. Heavy holiday traffic is expected, so check transport conditions, plan your route, and allow sufficient travel time. Use licensed transport services and avoid illegally operated vehicles. When cycling, obey traffic rules: do not ride against traffic, run red lights, or speed, and wear a helmet as required. Never drive under the influence of alcohol or without a valid license. Keep your passport, phone, luggage, and other belongings secure to prevent loss or theft.

3. Stay Safe at Tourist Attractions and in Crowds. Before traveling, check weather forecasts, safety notices, and attraction opening information. Do not enter undeveloped, closed, or restricted areas. At major events and popular attractions, follow staff instructions, identify emergency exits and evacuation routes, and avoid prolonged stays in crowded areas. Do not swim or play in dangerous waters or join adventure activities without adequate safety measures. Stay in contact with family, friends, and College staff, and inform them of changes to your plans.

4. Prevent Fire and Electrical Hazards. Dry autumn weather calls for extra attention to fire prevention. Follow dormitory fire safety rules. Do not use prohibited appliances, make unauthorized electrical connections, store flammable or explosive materials in dormitories, or bring electric bicycles or their batteries into buildings for charging. Cook only in designated public kitchens and follow the rules. Never leave cooking or kitchen appliances unattended, and switch them off after use. Do not cover or damage smoke detectors or block fire exits and escape routes. Before leaving your room, check water and electrical facilities, switch off appliances that do not need to remain on, and lock doors and windows. Follow fire safety rules at tourist attractions, and do not smoke or use open flames in areas where they are prohibited.

5. Follow Campus Safety Regulations. The University is a smoke-free campus. Smoking, using hookahs, and using open flames are prohibited in both indoor and outdoor campus areas. If you smoke outdoors, please extinguish the cigarette before throwing it away. Take care of public facilities and cooperate with campus and dormitory management. Do not lend your access card or room keys to others or allow off-campus visitors to stay overnight. Report suspicious persons or safety hazards promptly to the dormitory administrator or University Security Office.

6. Guard Against Phone and Online Scams. Be alert to scammers impersonating police, prosecutors, courts, immigration authorities, College staff, or customer service agents. Take particular care with ticket purchases, refunds, booking changes, and hotel reservations during the holiday. Do not trust unfamiliar callers, click suspicious links, or disclose bank card passwords or text-message verification codes. Verify payment and money-transfer requests through official channels. If you suspect fraud, contact College staff or the police promptly.

7. Look After Your Physical and Mental Wellbeing. Keep regular sleeping and eating habits, exercise moderately, and dress appropriately for changes in the weather. Choose hygienic dining venues, avoid expired or spoiled food, and avoid overeating and excessive drinking. Seek medical care if you feel unwell. If you experience emotional distress or other difficulties, reach out to family, friends, or College staff and seek support promptly.

IV. On-Campus Reminders and Emergency Contacts

1. Follow Dormitory Rules. Observe dormitory entry and visiting rules. Do not allow unauthorized overnight guests or enter rooms by climbing through windows or over doors. Keep your room and shared areas clean, avoid excessive noise, and respect others’ rest. Report problems with water, electricity, or fire safety facilities to dormitory duty staff promptly.

2. Check Campus Service Arrangements. Holiday opening hours, services, and duty arrangements for dining halls, libraries, teaching buildings, sports facilities, and the University Hospital are subject to the latest notices from the relevant University departments. Plan your meals, study, exercise, and medical visits accordingly, and check College notices regularly.

3. Remain Reachable. Check College notices and keep your phone and usual communication channels available. In an emergency, prioritize your safety, call the appropriate emergency service, and inform College staff as soon as possible of your location, what has happened, and the assistance you need.
