The Physical Model Research Group EOR Reservoir Engineering Research Group has the ambition to conduct EOR studies in the field of reservoir engineering. The major research area involves,

(1) Fluid flow in porous media

(2) Oil and gas reservoir engineering

(3) Oil and gas reservoir simulation

(4) Conventional and thermal production engineering

(5) Well stimulation

(6) Tertiary oil recovery and conformance control

(7) Gas production and gas flooding

(8) Dynamic testing and tracking evaluation

Oilfield Chemistry and EOR Research Group

The Physical Model Research Group has the ambition to conduct EOR studies in the field of chemical flooding. The major research area involves,

(1) Development of new profile control agents and water shutoff agents

(2) Technological design of profile control, water shutoff, and oil displacement

(3) Surfactant development and evaluation

(4) Polymer development and evaluation

(5) Complex system flooding and foam flooding

(6) Theoretical study on surface chemistry of chimerical flooding

Geological Carbon Sequestration and CO2-EOR Research Group

The Physical Model Research Group has the ambition to conduct integrated studies in the field of CO2 flooding and geological carbon sequestration. The major research area involves,

(1) In-laboratory CO2 flooding experiments

(2) Evaluation and design of CO2 flooding and geological sequestration

(3) Gas channeling control in the process CO2 flooding

(4) Tracking and optimization of CO2 flooding and geological sequestration

Physical Model Research Group

(2) Processing of large-size core models

(3) Processing of low-permeability core models

(4) Processing techniques of core samples

(5) Physical simulation methodology
