IMFTF Boarding Meeting held on 18 March 2022

At 20:30 18th March (Beijing time), IMFTF (International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum) boarding meeting was held online via Zoom. 11 IMFTF committee members coming from 5 different countries attend it.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Jun Yao, the secretary general of IMFTF. At the beginning, he showed his acknowledgement to all IMFTF committee member for their great contribution to IMFTF. This meeting aims to discuss some possible activities held in 2022.

The most important activity planned in 2022 is the hybrid international conference at Hainan Province from 12 to 15 August, which will be held together with the Annual Conference of Chinese Society of Particuology. The total number of participants is estimated about 1,200. Further, Prof. Yao introduced the venue, time, travelling as well as some key issues those may be worried by IMFTF members. In the end, he introduced the financial plan of IMFTF funding in 2022 to support all activities, which includes international flights, accommodation, payment and so on.

The second most important activity arranged in this year is IMFTF Keynote Meeting. So far, IMFTF has successfully held 6 keynote meetings. After that IMFTF Keynote certificates are issued to each keynote speaker. In this year, IMFTF Keynote meeting would like to invite more industrial expert, senior engineer and other experts with a lot industrial experience to join this activity.  On the other hand, IMFTF will open a new platform for Ph.D students, where two Ph.D students are invited to introduce their research work and attendees could ask them questions or give some comments afterwards. The purpose is to promote exchange between young people in different university and countries and make good friendship for them. It may take half day or one day for such activity.

Last, all IMFTF members also discussed a series of plans such as continuing to increase new IMFTF committee member as well as invite international famous expert in the area of multiphase flow to give lectures. Finally, Yao made summary of this meeting and again thanked everyone for their great contributions to IMFTF. After the meeting, opinions discussed will be collected and sorted out, and a detailed meeting note will be prepared. The meeting lasted for 1 hour.

As one of international academic organizations belonging to Worldwide Energy University Network, the International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum (IMFTF) was established on January 10, 2020. Up to now, 13 IMFTF committee members come from 13 universities in 7 countries around the world. The forum aims to develop the multiphase flow including technology and science as well as clarify its direction for young people.
