Talent Selection Program

For Southeast Asian students

Talent Selection Program selects outstanding upper-secondary graduates for scholarship-supported degree study at Chinese universities. The Talent Selection Program selects outstanding high school graduates to pursue degree studies in China and receive scholarships. Its examinations are held in Southeast Asian countries on multiple occasions.

What Talent Selection Program is

Talent Selection Program is a selection examination system for upper-secondary graduates.It offers outstanding students from Southeast Asia the opportunity to pursue degree study in China with scholarship support, covering tuition, accommodation, a monthly living allowance and health insurance depending on the scholarship type.

Examination & selection

Applications are submitted once a year through the online portal. The process covers document review, a written examination assessing academic knowledge and language skills, an interview for shortlisted applicants, and the official announcement of results.

Who can apply

Southeast Asian students

Target applicants

Upper-secondary students in their final years or graduates (equivalent to Grades 10–12).
Focus on Southeast Asian countries.
Students interested in degree study in China in energy, engineering and related fields.

Basic requirements

Studying in, or having completed, upper-secondary education.
Age generally not exceeding 25.
Good academic record — a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above is the usual requirement.
Good physical health and no concurrent scholarship that prohibits another award.
Applicants must submit certified ID documents, transcripts, recommendation letters and, where available, English or Chinese language test results.
The specific eligibility criteria for each academic year are subject to the annual official announcements issued by our university.

CUPB's participation & plans

As a participating Chinese university and a future test centre

CUPB as a participating university

CUPB takes part in Talent Selection Program-based recruitment as one of the participating Chinese universities. Students selected through Talent Selection Program may be admitted to CUPB's undergraduate programs and may be channelled into the "0.5+4" Joint Training Program (one preparatory semester plus four undergraduate years) with CSCA-oriented preparation.

Examinations are held on multiple occasions in Indonesia and Thailand. CUPB also intends to establish a Talent Selection Program test centre on its campus, so that future examination sessions, interviews and related selection activities can be held at CUPB with full service support.
